Peanut Butter Balls: A Perfect Road Trip Snack
Every great road trip needs a snack that’s quick, satisfying, and mom-approved — and these no-bake peanut butter balls check all the boxes. The best I can describe them are a Perfect Bar knock-off ball. Heading to a museum, hiking a trail, or just fueling up for homeschool, these little bites are packed with protein and joy.

Here are your ingredients!
This looks like a lot, but it is super simple. If you make these as much as we do, it will come second nature!
- Oat flour. We usually have the boys help place the oats in a bowl and then put them in the blender to make a large batch of oat flour. Be sure to blend them well.
- Natural Peanut Butter. We buy our from Costso!
- Vanilla Protein powder. The same, Costco. Does not matter the brand, your choice.
- Honey. The same, Costco…maybe we have a theme here! LOL!
- Vanilla extract. We make our own or have a standby from Azure Standard.
- Coconut Oil. Costco.
- Mini Chocolate Chips. We buy in bulk from Azure Standard.
- Salt. Costco or Azure Standard.

Little Helpers
Well you cannot have the kiddos help with anything without them wanting to lick the spoon…or jar in Ethan’s case!

Almost Done!
Then once everything is mixed and folded in, it will be a nice molding “batter”. Shouldn’t been too dry, and you don’t want it too mushy.
From here, you just roll the balls up (or worms for the boys). I usually roll them in ABOUT 1 inch balls. This makes about 20-30 balls. Of course, there’s always those quality control managers that come around and have to taste test!
Once you’re done rolling, pop them in the fridge for a bit and they are ready for your perfect road trip snack or having an adventure day with Ethan and Oliver in the books!

From the E&O Snack Stash:
Ethan says these are “power pellets” for hiking hills. Oliver just calls them “peanutty treasures.” On their Alabama adventure, Dad even turned snack time into a game—whoever won the scavenger hunt got the last peanut butter ball! Needless to say... Oliver was very motivated.
